This model shows how shadows make the phases of the moon. The bottom corner shows the view of the moon from earth, half of the moon is always lit up (except during a lunar eclipse) This is greatly sped up, in the model about 3 days go by every second. Even at that fast pace a year still takes about 2 minutes :)
