I decided that there would be 3 3D Stages (Later to become 4 thanks to 'Bowser's Dark World'), 3 Spin off stages (Mario Spinoffs / Pseudo Mario- Yet to be announced) and 2 2D stages. And DKC is it's own franchise in my eyes. I knew that I had some must have stages- 2 are yet to be announced. New Super Mario Bros. was going to be one of them. This left the retro stage. Originally I went for Super Mario Land 2, but I felt like it just didn't work- and wasn't that major of a 2D Mario title. Then I opted for an OG World 1-1 stage. But this made the roster, very, and I say VERY bland for interesting stages, or at least non 3D stages. I eventually went over to Spriters Resource and found this hunk- We call it 'Super Mario Land'. I mean, I had played the original and it was pretty fun. But there was so much more that this stage could represent! And I was hooked. It also doubled as my puzzle game stage- I considered a Tetris and Dr. Mario stage but it didn't work. But since they are so synonymous with the Game Boy, it was a match made in heaven! Whilst developing- I came up with an idea. How about I give the player the chance to make the stage Green...? It's a reference to 3 things: 1. The color of the game boy's screen. 2. The Green Greens stage in Smash for 3DS 3. The Virtual Console's (3DS) ability to allow the color pallets to be swapped with (L+R)+Y. I hope you all liked the stage, it is one of the more interesting stages I've come up with! Here's some other features of note: - Clouds go by from time to time - This is based on the first level of 'The Baributo Kingdom' - Incredibly easy to create (1-2 hours?) - This will feature other GB tracks, like SML Caverns theme, SML2 theme, Tetris theme and Dr. Mario theme. - Kirby GB stages will not have Mario GB music, vice versa. Just in case if you were worried about no Kirby content other than the Pink Puffball and Veteran stages... - The pyramids are background only features, but the bricks and pipe are background features.
