The other group heavily dominates it, and Onyx's (the black/dark gray one) dad leads the ruling group. Onyx just figured out that her Dad killed her mother for having a she-cat, but kept it hush-hush from her. She goes into an alley to brood, and sees August give a speech-type thing. She lurks behind, and he notices. He approaches her a while later, and says some things any reasonable feminist would cringe at. He wasn't being completely serious, but still. He then realizes something is really wrong, so he shuts his trap. Onyx eventually joins the rebel group, and you guessed it! they became mates. It wasn't without fights or anything, but hey. And with mates (this is reaching the point not covered here), comes kits. Onyx tells him that she was expecting a day before every cat in the alley was expected to go to battle with the clans. A plan was formed, then. In the chaos of the battle, overthrow the ruling leader. It did not go as planned, as most battles with clans would for rogues, and Goldbranch killed Onyx, who happened to be her half-sister, in defense of her medicine cat. She was horrified to discover the kits who would never be born, but in the alley they would have had terrible lives anyway... But this isn't about Goldbranch. When August noticed the fatalities, he lead the rogues out of battle, and became the leader, as the leader of the rebels turned traitor. He thought that Onyx was right behind him. What happens when I try to write morals: it gets depressing, cats die, and generally it isn't good.
