Instructions

Chp. 2 Dusky blinked. Everyone was ready to go. He stood up, and slowly every wolf fell into place behind their alpha. Sparky was looking down. Dusky knew Sparky would miss their summer den. “We’ll be back in no time.” Dusky said, looking cheerful, but truly his heart ached as he watched Sparky’s eyes go wet. Sparky slowly lifted his head and he began to walk faster. The pack set into a full sprint, making sure to reach their winter den as fast as possible. Dusky hoped the clear skies of summer would remain throughout their journey, but it was unlikely. They had began the journey late, and it was probable that they would have to make it through at least one storm throughout their journey. Wolves are not migratory animals, but Dusky made sure they relocated seasonally. He was aware that most of the prey they were used to would be hiding away during winter, so over the autumn months Dusky was extra cautious and brought his pack to an area where prey abounded, even during the cold seasons. By summer the animals would have made it back to their summer den. Dusky closed his eyes and looked down to find that he was right. Shortly after they left the den, a thunderstorm had began. /This isn’t safe! Not only is this thunderstorm dangerous, but any animals could be searching for a den at a time like this!/ Dusky growled at himself. /I’d ought to stop thinking negative thoughts or I’ll jinx myself again./ Dusky thought as he heard a set of footsteps that didn’t belong to his pack. A large animal was approaching. Dusky squeezed his eyes shut. He lifted his paw to scratch the intruder, but his paw fell to the ground. The intruder he believed to have rested his paw on was nothingness. Just the rain battering on the ground. Chp. 3 Star gulped. Dusky seemed very worried. His footing was twisted, one leg crossed another with each step he took. He was tensing his shoulders, but as his stress seemed to seep out of him and his shoulders dropped, Star began to wonder why she was so worried about him. /He’s our alpha. Our leader. There’s nothing wrong with worrying about him/ Star told herself. After all, there was no reason to be worried, was there? Dusky was brave and strong. That’s how he won himself the place of the small pack’s alpha. Star shook these ridiculous thoughts out of her head, and held her head a tad higher, copying Abigail’s usual confident posture. The forest was a wild place, but through all the ruckus of the woods, she found her eyes not wanting to wander the pine forest. The wanted to stay stuck to the ground. So Star let her eyes drift to her paws. “Are we almost there yettttttttttt??!!” Sparky groaned, startling Star. She had had her eyes closed and Star wondered how she managed to stay behind Dusky, even with her eyes not open. Star lifted her head to see Dusky shaking his. “5 miles. The quickest we could get there is 3 hours.” Dusky responded. Star sighed. /I can make it/ she thought. Chp. 4 Benjamin felt his mouth begin to ache. He had been holding a fish for nearly and hour now—and there were still 2 hours to go. He glanced back at Abigail and Sparky gingerly. The two were short tempered, and he was worried one could even take a quick look wrong. But that was dumb. He pushed himself to keep walking and not drop the salmon in his mouth or the cod on his back. Every 25 or so minutes (Heh Elara study and calculate) they got a break to walk, but those 25 minutes felt like a million years when you’ve been doing it for so long. Benjamin winced after tripping on a rock, and he dropped the fish he carried. As he collected the fish, he noticed that the other wolves did nothing other than glance back at him and come to a sharp halt. When he had gotten every fish, the wolves continued. Not long after Benjamin had tripped he felt a gash open on his paw pad. He sighed. /I’ll deal with this when we get to the den./ To the blue eyed wolf’s surprise, Dusky was willing to stop so the injury could be healed. Star turned around, and stuffed the open wound with cobwebs, and treated it with other plants Benjamin did not know the name of. “Done.” Star said politely, “Is that any better?” Benjamin nodded gratefully. “Better than ever.” The journey continued, and after Sparky’s sharp yap asking if they were almost there yet, Dusky announced that one hour of on and off running and walking remained. /Just on more hour./ though Benjamin.

Description

Chp. 5 Abigail ran swiftly behind the brown furred wolf Benjamin. Abigail was nearly out of breath and sighed in relief when she discovered the wolves could start walking again. She assumed there wasn’t much time left, by now probably only 45 minutes. /Well,/ she told herself, /I sure am feeling awful./ Abigail stomach was growling, though not because of hunger. She was not sure why, but her stomach ached and she felt like her insides were twisted, turning as she walked. Dusky looked back, checking if she was okay. Abigail nodded reassuringly, but did not know if she was being truthful. /AM I okay?/ Abigail gulped down some air, feeling her stomach’s terrible pain. She winced and the pain became sharp, in long bursts. Her throat tightened up and she stopped running and gagged. How utterly horrible she felt. She thought it was nothing bad. Maybe her stomach didn’t like her last meal. She gagged again. Dusky stopped. “Abigail…” he said sternly. “Y-yes?” Star looked at Dusky. Dusky nodded. Abigail was very surprised. Dusky seemed so upset sometimes, but then simply let you do whatever you needed. Star had healed Abigail after some time, and the adventure continued. Chp. 6 “Are we almost there yet?” “No.” “Are we almost there yet?” “No.” “Are we almost there yet?” “Yes.” Sparky was delighted to finally get a yes from Dusky. /Ah, it must only be half an hour!/ Sparky, now, could no longer ask Dusky if they were almost there yet, which of course was disappointing, but at least they /were/ almost there. Sparky hummed a tune to himself but Abigail glared sharply at him. /She doesn’t like the tune!/ Sparky thought. So he tried another tune. No. Another. No. Benjamin laughed, seeing as Abigail nearly hurled herself at Sparky, desperately wanting to tie his muzzle up with cobwebs so he could never speak again. And Sparky didn’t want that so he stopped. “Thank you.” “Of course.” Abigail rolled her eyes. Chp. 7 Dusky glanced behind him. /Ah, we’d better start running now. They all look bored./ Dusky sighed. “12 minutes left,” he said, trying to make the other wolves look up. The only wolf who gave any mind to him at all was Star, who only nodded at him and looked away. Dusky broke into a run. He growled to get Star’s attention, who caught Benjamin’s attention, Abigail’s, and finally Sparky’s. They ran for five more minutes before walking again. “7,” Dusky mumbled. He was not expecting anyone to listen, but Sparky smirked and asked, “Are we almost there yetttttt??” Dusky glared at him playfully. “Oh, we sure are,” he responded, a sparkle in his eyes and claws unsheathed. Dusky was about to start running again when he heard voices. He immediately halted and stalked towards the sounds. “Stay there,” he instructed the other wolves. He peeked around a corner and his eyes widened. “Mom?” yes I did it yeeee a chapterrr I’m almost done with chp. 24 of aum but I’m feeling bleh so I’ll not be working on it a lot all credit to me don’t steal mah story
