Family ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thorn, a 2 moons old pup cuddled with his parents, Evergreen (Father) and Glow (Mother). "Thorn, could you get me a mouse from the sky Group fresh kill pile, please?" Glow asked softly. Thorn nods before he walks to the center of the camp, taking a mouse. He brought back the mouse in the nursery, then he gave it to his mother, Glow. "Thank you young fighter," Glow said, smiling. Thorn smiled back then climbed to his father's back. "Daddy," he called, while climbing to Evergreen's head. "Yeah, son, what is it?" the tom wolf asked. "Why is Mommy's belly getting a bit bigger?" Thorn asked his father who smiled the biggest smile Thorn has ever seen. Evergreen twisted his head, looking at Glow, nodding. Glow nods back, then she looks at Thorn's curious, wondering eyes. "Son," she starts, "do you know that you're gonna have a little sister? Yes you're gonna have one! It's a she-pup, the med-wolf, Shiningsilver, said. Aren't you excited?" Thorn's curious eyes turns wet right when Glow said the word "little sister". First, it was a quiet sob. Then, he started crying. Evergreen pats Thorn's back asking, "What is it Thorn?" Thorn looked up at his parents, wiping his tears. "I-I've been waiting for this chance to come," he said, smiling. "And now it's... it's here." After a month, Thorn's little sister is in the world, biting Thorn's tail while laughing. Thorn giggled, "Hee hee, you're a cute pup." Well, at first Thorn is happy. But then, things started to turn bad. Silver seems to always gets Evergreen and Glow's attention. When they had dinner, Thorn is telling a story. Then, suddenly Silver cried. Glow directly ran to Silver's bed to check on her. 'Usually Mom will focus on my storytelling... *Sigh*, that is before Silver came.' Thorn thought, 'I... I kinda wish she is... not... here.' Thorn always tried to be patient. But one day, the anger and jealousy of Thorn CANNOT be held back anymore. It was Christmas day. The Christmas Festival is held in the Sky Group center camp. There are lots and lots of delicious food served. There are fried rabbit, fish stew, and last, but the best, a barbecue deer. Thorn was so excited to go to the festival with his family. All the Sky Group wolves gather in the main/center camp. Graystar leads the festival with Smokefur, the deputy, and his son. Thorn sat beside Evergreen who is beside Glow who is cleaning Silver's fur. 'Mommy and Daddy doesn't clean my fur today,' he thought. The festival starts as the wolves started talking with each other, playing and eating. Then, after the long, and fun festival, the wolves went back in their own dens. Thorn yawned ready to sleep, when he realizes that Glow and Evergreen is whispering something. "Hey, Silver," Glow woke Silver gently. "Wake up, honey," Glow said again as Silver yawned and opened her sleepy eyes. "Merry Christmas!" Glow and Evergreen shouts as they pulled out something. There, sitting in front of Silver, is a real, cotton cat-bed. "We found it from the two-leg place after we asked permission from Graystar. It's for you, Silver, you like it?" Evergreen asked Silver who crawled in the bed saying, "Thank ou, Dadda, Mamma." While Silver felt great Joy, Thorn's once, happy heart sinks in anger. He grits his teeth, growling as quiet as he can. When Silver smiled at him, he puts up an angry face which scares Silver. "Aaaaa...! Mamma...! Dadda...! Torn scary...! Silver scaaared...!" Silver cried. Glow looked at Thorn who growled at her. Without being expected by Thorn, Evergreen looked firmly to his eyes. Thorn cries. "I-I just, want M-Mommy and, hic, Daddy's, atention, hic, just like what it, used to, hic, be..." Thorn cries loudly, sticking to Evergreen's fur. He thought that he would be punished, but instead, he is huged. Thorn looked up to Evergreen's face that is now soft. Glow swished her tail around Thorn. "Son," he said, "you are always our special pup. Nothing can change that. Silver... just need attention, you know, because, she is small." The last word that was said in Evergreen's sentence makes Thorn cries a bit harder. "D-dad... then, am I... fragile because I'm c-crying?" Thorn asked, trying to wipe his tears. "No," Evergreen said. "Why not?" Thorn asked, confused. "You are strong, Thorn." Glow said, smiling at him warmly, "Both physically and mentally. You, are a great wolf. You are strong, yes. You are kind, yes. That is what makes you, Thorn the Great Wolf." Silver hugged Thorn who hugged her back. Since then, the family lived happily ever after. ~The End~
