Instructions

Karma swooshed through the city in his light blue, floor-length dress and bare feet, leaving luck behind him. Dogs bit unkind siblings, while their younger sibling was rewarded by finding change on the street. Rude people found that they'd "accidentally" dropped something important in a puddle. The kinder ones discovered that they had the day off from work. Karma took luck to a whole new level. It was one of the perks of being a god, after all. He hummed a tune to himself as he strutted down the sidewalk. Turning into a side alley, he twirled around and smiled at the calico cat scrounging food from the Dumpster. "Aww, poor lil kitty," he cooed as he passed it. The cat, to its surprise, found half a turkey in the Dumpster, almost completely unspoiled. Karma closed his eyes and spun around again, opening his eyes in an empty field. He grinned. "Halia, I know you wouldn't walk out on me," he shouted. An unholy kind of cawing-screeching-mewling hybrid came from behind him. He turned and saw some kind of animal. It resembled a cat, but the tail was much longer and flexible, and it had three eyes. One blue, one yellow, one purple. It might have been white once, but now its fur was matted and stained with dirt. "Ha ha, you're covered in dirt," Karma said solemnly. It sat and licked its dirty paw. "You ate dirt," he pointed out. The strange cat blinked and, in a whirl of silvery silk, transformed into a young Asian girl wearing a grey-silver suit. She glared at him. "Well, you did," he defended himself. "I was cleaning myself." "By eating dirt." "We could stand here all day and discuss whether it was my intention to eat dirt, but I don't want to, because having two eyes makes me dizzy and I want to hurry up and go home. Let's just go." Halia grabbed his hand and the two gods - one of memory, one of luck - disappeared with a flash of lightning.
