She promised to never look back, and changed her name to Crystal so that she could "shine, even in the dark". -Unfortunately for Crystal, she actually /had/ been cursed by an angry visitor to her village. (She hadn't done anything wrong, it was just that he wanted to take out his anger on someone, and that someone just happened to be her. Every full moon evil spirits would come to her, whispering in her head and causing her mental pain. They would hurt someone she loved before leaving. Crystal was never aware of this, however, because she always thought it was just because she had trauma from how the villagers treated her.
