[zoom out all the way, Earth & square of space are floating in between Julia’s hands] Julia: We are the Mages, magical folk each with a unique power! [pan over kids looking bored.] Kid 1: *yawns* You think we don’t know this already? [Kid headshot talking] Julia: Just let me finish, okay? I know orientation seems a little unnecessary, but the Council says you have to do it. [Julia headshot talking] Julia: There is only one rule specific to magic. It is this: Never use your ability against another, or for ill gain. If you do so, your ability will be taken away by my father, the Regulator. He’s a member of the council- [back to illusion slideshow—old paper with the Rule written on it, then an image of the Regulator smiling] (Julia is interrupted, make the cutoff abrupt when talking) Kid 1: You mean the Stealer? Julia: Don’t call him that. (annoyed, kind of strict-sounding) Kid 2: Well, that’s what he is! He takes your powers and steals them away, and you’ll never get them back
