The next day was a Saturday. The first thing I did when I woke up was look over at my desk, where letters usually landed overnight. Sure enough, there was one, with a handwriting I didn’t recognize. I assumed it was from Ren and went over to read it. Acwulf, It really depends on how much he trusts me and what he needs help with. I’d be happy to help either way. Ren I grabbed a pen and paper. Ren, He doesn’t fully trust you, which is reasonable on his part. He has a similar problem to what you have with your monster, so if you’d like to help with that. I can show you the clearing if you’d want to help. Wolf After I sent the letter, I got dressed and opened the door. Naomi was outside, and the twins’s light was on, though no one else was in the hall. “Morning, Wolf,” Naomi said, smiling. I smiled back. “Hey.” After the twins and Calli came out, we wandered over to breakfast. Calli got french toast, I got pancakes, Brazen got eggs and bacon, Naomi got waffles, and Harlow got oatmeal. After breakfast, Brazen and Harlow invited all of us, including Calli, to their dorm. Brazen pulled out a bottle, and I knew exactly what he was doing. “Sit in a circle, guys,” Naomi said, catching on. Calli nodded uncertainly and followed suit as I sat in between Naomi and Brazen. Harlow sat on the other side of Naomi, while Calli sat next to Brazen, completing the circle. Harlow took a deep breath and spun the bottle. It landed on me. I frowned. “Um, Beorf’s human,” I said, after a long pause of thought. The twins gasped, while Calli looked even more confused. “When did you find this out?” Brazen asked. “Day before Cozbi, I think,” I answered. “And you didn’t tell us?” “Day before Cozbi. I was going to, we got just a little distracted.” Brazen’s face reddened with embarrassment. “Sorry.” I nodded. Calli entered the conversation. “What are we even doing?” “Circle of Secrets,” Harlow and Naomi explained in unison. Calli nodded. “Oh.” I reached out and spun the bottle. It landed on Brazen. “Oh, um… I can tell the future with my drawings.” Naomi and Calli gasped in unison. I nodded, already knowing this. “Woah. How so?” Naomi asked. “Like, I drew a fox, and a few months later I could shapeshift. That sorta thing.” Naomi nodded. Brazen spun the bottle, and it landed on his sister. She mumbled something unintelligible. “What?” I asked, across the circle from her. “I like Shadow,” she mumbled, a little louder. I nodded, accepting this. Naomi looked like she already had known, while Brazen and Calli’s reactions were similar to mine. Harlow looked up. “You don’t hate me?” she asked in relative surprise. “Harlow, we’d never hate you for who you are,” Brazen said. Calli draped a protective arm over Harlow’s shoulders, and I smiled at her. “Why would we hate you? You’re still you, Harlow. We just know more about you,” I told her, repeating the same words she’d told me months ago, when I’d confessed that I was a werewolf. Harlow returned the smile. “Thanks, guys.”
