Just a demo of using a spotlight or torch to limit what can be seen. Others have done the same - I'm not claiming this is anything special!
Mainly to help someone on the forum If you add ghosting to the 3 sprites you can change the amount of light in the non-spotlit area. Press space to see this - I haven't quite got it perfect but the idea is there.
