1. Poland is located in central/eastern Europe. It is bordered on the east by Belarus & Ukraine, on the south by Slovakia and the Czech Republic, on the west by Germany, and on the north is the Baltic Sea, Lithuania, and a wee bit of Russia. 2. Flag notes…...missing for now 3a. The main language spoken in Poland is Polish. It belongs to the West Slavic language group along with Czech and Slovak. 3c. Some traditional foods from Poland are gołąbki, pierogi, kiełbasa, and golonka. 3b. An well known expression in Polish is, ‘Nie mój cyrk, nie moje małpy,’ meaning not my circus, not my monkeys. 3e. One misconception is that Poland is a former Soviet Republic. Although it became part of the Soviet Bloc nations post-WW2 and lost most of its independence, it never became part of the Soviet Union. 3g. Something that resonates with me is that the Nazi's built many concentration camps on Polish land during WW2. The truth is that over 3.3 million Poles were imprisoned in those camps and more than half of them were exterminated or died under the camps horrific conditions.
