The thing that Rei hated the most is how heartless powered people could be. They killed the guards, never thinking about what they did. They only cared about their own safety, and Rei thought that they're no better than the guards. If they killed a guard, didn't they weigh the burden of actually KILLING someone? Probably not. They were all too busy killing guards and innocent people to actually notice," Is there any reason to actually kill guards, or innocent people?" The guards have people they care about. Family. But if the guard was killed, then people would mourn that guard. They didn't want the guard to die. But these powered people were too...ignorant to understand anything. They just killed because they thought it was okay. After all, they had to survive, and never care about who they killed as long as they survived. Rei felt like she was the only one who understood both sides. Both had something in common. Fear. Survival. Rei had decided that if some powered person didn't care if they killed a guard, Rei would slap them on the cheek hard enough for the pain to feel like fire. Because they deserved it, right? A slap wasn't enough pain for the death of a person. Rei had never been as angry as that. People didn't care, they didn't want to understand, and they were truly monsters to think that killing a guard with a family was okay, or great. Really, they didn't even place themselves in that guards position. Hoping to survive, only to just get killed by a monster who didn't care?
Rei's eyes are dull. Once she was born, her parents kept her inside all the time. This was because of her sensitivity to ghosts. They would teach her many things about the outside world, and she felt satisfied, knowing that she would know something rather than nothing at all. If Rei ever went outside, she would be likely to get possessed. Her parents would never let any harm come to Rei. When Rei got older, Rei's parents eventually taught her how to prevent ghosts from controlling her. They then permitted her to go outside once she was done with the training and such. Rei thought of the outside as a world of beauty and peace. She enjoyed the outside and thought everything was going to be great, until she saw she had powers. It all happened when she was going to help her parents cook. Her mom got possessed by a strong ghost. Rei eventually controlled the ghost, and leaded it out of her mother's body. The ghost was surprised at how Rei could control it. It quickly disappeared. Rei was shocked. Just why did she have these powers? ------------------------------------------------ Rei still lives in her house. Her parents have died. She disguises herself as Amanda, and lives a normal life as Amanda. Rei understands how cruel the world may be some times. Rei feels there is no hope for her, and others like her. But she remembers what her parents said. "Never give up on that tiny spark of hope. Life can turn around, at the moment you least expect it. In the most terrible despair, you will always find hope."
