She walked to a kit about her age she didn’t know. They sat together in a long silence. “Hello” the kit finally said. “Hi” “I’m Aurorakit. You?” “I’m Nightkit” Oreokit, Nightkit’s brother, walked over. “Hi”, he said. “Hi” Aurorakit mewed. “I’m gonna go back inside the nursery”, yawned Nightkit “I’m tired” That night, Nightkit snuck out of camp, wanting to see the territory before Oreokit and Aurorakit. It was there 6 moons tomorrow. She saw a rogue on the rocks near camp. “Hey!” She said “Get out of here! This is ThunderClan territory!” “I’m Kurse”, the cat hissed “Now run away before I claw your eyes out!” Nightkit ran back to camp. The leader was on the Highrock. “Sunstar!” Nightkit meowed “There’s a rogue outside camp!” “Shush, Nightkit, you haven’t even been out yet”, Sunstar said. “LET ALL CATS OLD ENOUGH TO HUNT GATHER BENEATH HIGH-ROCK!” He yowled. All the cats gathered. i can’t wait until i’m an apprentice! Nightkit thought. “It is time for us to choose a new deputy!” oh yeah, new deputy, she thought. She saw to unfamiliar cats watching camp. She left to infestagate, and she say Rushingwater bleeding outside camp, and she rushed back in. “RUSHINGWATER IS BLEEDING OUTSIDE CAMP!!!” She yowled, as Sunpelt leapt onto High-Rock with Sunstar. Whisperingpaw rushed outside with some herbs. “Now, we need another med app!” Sunstar said. There was a long silence. Nightkit rolled her eyes. “I’ll be med app!” She said. “Me to!” Mewled Aurorakit. “From this moment on you shall be known as Aurorapaw!” Sunstar said. “Now, go follow Whisperingpaw”, he said as Whisperingpaw and Rushingwater walked back into camp. Night kit started to follow, when she realised her name wasn’t said. She walked back, and saw Oreopaw be apprenticed. “Can I be a warrior apprentice now?” Nightkit asked. There was a silence. “CAN I?!” She yowled. “Meeting dismissed!” Sunstar said. The Clan walked back to what they were doing. “What about me?” Nightkit whispered. She walked to Sunstar. “Make me an apprentice or else I’m leaving” He stared at her blankly, and walked of High-Rock. “I’m leaving for ShadowClan! We may meet in battle some day!” She yowled after him. And she left camp. Nightkit walked over the ThunderPath, and just when she was about to get off a monster came hurtling towards her. She ducked, and survived. She continued travelling. She finally got to ShadowClan. “Oh yeah, I forgot they live at Carrionplace now. I don’t wanna go there!” She said to herself. “I’ll go to the barn” Moons passed in the barn, and Nightkit was now 11 moons old. i would be a warrior by now… She thought. She jumped onto a pile of hay. “I’m changing my name to Night!” She yowled and the other rogues nodded. She leapt down, and walked outside. She saw Oreopaw running in the distance. Flashes of her past went through her mind. i’m gonna go look for kurse. She thought. “Does anyone know where a cat called Kurse might be?” “Sorry, we don’t”, a rogue said. “I’ll just search on my own then,” she meowed. She walked to High-Stones and ended up in the tunnel to the Moonstone. “Whisperingpaw?” She meowed quietly, “Is that you?” “I’m Whisperingshadow now, but yes,” said the black Tom. “It’s been so long…” “It has been” “So, what brings you to the Moonstone?” “ThunderClan split up, and I came to guard the Moonstone” “Cool! I’ll get some prey!” Night went out to hunt, and chased a rabbit so far she had gotten lost. When she made it back to the Moonstone with the rabbit, Whisperingshadow was gone. oh no… she thought, he never got to know how i felt… Tears stung her eyes. She went back to the barn, renaming herself Nightshadow. She noticed how many Clan cats were there. She went back to ThunderClan camp, to see who was still there. “Nightkit?” Oreopaw asked “Oreopaw! I’m Nightshadow now!” “Nightk-shadow!” Aurorapaw said, “I’m Auroratail, and he’s Oreofur.” “Say, do you like anyone?” Oreofur asked. “Well, he’s black and he has amazing blue eyes..” “You like WHISPERINGSHADOW?” “Well… yes. I came here to see if you wanted to join me,” Nightshadow said. Whisperingshadow came out of the bushes “Where are we going?” Nightshadow jumped and turned to face him. “To Highstones. We’ll live by the Moonstone” “Sounds good!” They all said. When they arrived Nightshadow became Nightstar, leader of NightClan. “Hey, umm… Whisperingshadow, I really like you, and I want you to step down from medicine cat so we can be mates!” “Of course, Auroratail is a full med now,” he whispered to Nightstar.
