SAC Leader Applications ❁ Feb. 2022 Hi there! Welcome to our 5th session of Scratch Art Camp. Here are the February *2022* leader applications! This session the two hosts will be @PandasCodingGames (Poem) and @rainyweek (Seven), following that our one and only co-host will be @-PeacockPea- (Pia)! Please read everything in the description and slides if you're interested in applying. Thank you to everybody who has helped SAC past and present - We couldn't have done it without you all ^^ - ❁ Scratch Art Camp (abbreviated as SAC) is a tri-annual (meaning three times a year) online art camp here on Scratch. The months that SAC is partaken in are February, June, and October. You make a goal on how long you want to spend doing art, and try to reach that by the end of the month. You'll be placed into one of the lodges, and you can do dailies and weekendlies to earn points for your lodge. To learn more information about SAC, feel free to read the frequently asked questions: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/555823473/ - ❁ All (co) leader applications are due by December 18th at 11:59PM NT (Newfoundland time). On the 19th of December, the (co-) hosts will decide leaders and notify them! ALL APPLICANTS PLEASE READ! This session, the hosts will be choosing over 8 co-leader applications or remaining leader applications to be chosen into 'the cut' - leaders will be choosing their co-leader from the cut that the hosts have decided on. If a leader finds a different application much more interesting and believes they can be a good leader; they'll write a summary with 4-6 sentences on why that applicant would be a good co-leader for them, and the hosts will review over the application and further decide. This proposal was brought up by @wiiderness; so thank you for the idea <3 All applications will be checked out after you remix it, and after the deadline, just in case you changed anything to your application. Here's a small project on how to make a 'good' SAC (co)leader application with a few tips: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/592461088/ - ❁ Interested in applying for (co) leader, but don't know which to apply for? Leaders preferably have more responsibility than the co-leaders since they're more in charge of the lodge - which possibly leads to making lodge decisions. Leaders are promoted in the main lodge, and will be able to add points there, where as co-leaders will remain curators and will be unable to add points. Both co-leaders and leaders will be able to add art minutes in their lodge. We all communicate and plan in a discussion forum. I've never been a leader and/or never have participated in SAC before - Can I apply or will more experienced people be chosen over me? Experience doesn't matter! If you've never been in camp before, or you've been a inactive camper in the past the hosts will figure that out and recommend you a co-leader that's experienced - if you're a co-leader, then your leader will help guide you throughout the whole planning process and camp ^^ What are the lodge options? - Animals - Botanical - Cartoon - Colorful - Digital - Monochromatic - Mosaic - Pop Note: Botanical is going to be a host lodge, so please keep in mind that Botanical won't be applicable for Question 3. With the studio update, only the owner can change the description. How will this affect my work as (co)leader? If you want information on this topic, we've made two PSAs that explain how things will be working. You can find the one for the Main Lodge here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/555981638/ You can also find the one for individual lodges here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/556298025 What time zone does SAC operate in? SAC operates in the Newfoundland timezone, or NT! This means dailies and weekendlies will change at midnight NT - If you don’t know what time that is in your time zone, you can look it up or ask in the comments. When will the camper signups be posted? They'll be posted on @rainyweek's account on January 1st! If you'd like to be notified for them feel free to ask in the comments down below. - ❁ Credits: SWC for inspiration and the general idea of SAC Music: Two Birds - @Animorphs6 for the recording. @frostiedflakes for founding SAC @swiftrush co-founding SAC @frostiedflakes, @swiftrush, @solarsea, @jextriq, @PandasCodingGames, @MouseyT, @-PeacockPea-, and @rainyweek for (co-) hosting in the past @PandasCodingGames & @rainyweek for hosting this session @-PeacockPea- for co-hosting this session Everyone in SAC past and present for contributing in every little way <3
