Anyway, I thought this would be a good way to flesh out my characters because goodness knows I need that (Interviewer is marked with an * , the OC is marked with a -) OC 1 *What's your name? -Alice. *Where are you from? -Do you really need to know? The east. Or west. Honestly, pick a general direction and you might get lucky. *Ah, noted. Do you have any living family? -Yes. Last I checked. *Which was how long ago? -None of your business. *Hmm, okay. Then what do you consider your greatest achievement? (This is the moment when I realized this was a mistake lol) (She pulls out a claw shaped rock, which seemed to slightly distort in the light) -This is my first shade claw. It was a nasty one, for sure. *...remind me what that is? -A trophy. *Okay... Uh, so that bow, is it your first one? -Yes. Well, technically it was given to me, but I have made good use of it. *How nice. How do you make a living? I mean, when I asked for an address I was just directed into the woods and told I'll 'find her somewhere.' Does your job require you to be here for long amounts of time? -Hmm, maybe I should have let you wander for a bit longer. To answer your question, yes, my job does require me to be out here. I think, though, it is about time you leave. OC 2 (The interviewer and OC are sitting at a table in a makeshift library) *This library is nice -Ah, you like it? I've helped quite a bit to line the books up nicely. I think it really helped clean up the space. *So you work here? -I do, though not very often. Other matters often pull me away. It really is quite annoying. *Shame. So what's your name? -Call me Aspen. If you get any ideas about nicknames, forget it. I deal with my sister already. She's an absolute pain. *You have a sister? She sounds like an interesting person. -Yeah, I do. She's got an infinite well of energy. How, I have yet to find out. *Do you have any other siblings? -Not to my knowledge. But it would be cool if I had some sort of long lost sibling. Actually, nevermind. Willow's already hard enough to deal with. Still, the concept is cool. *Do you have any other family members of note? -I haven't been in contact with my parents for a while... and I don't think I'll be hearing from them soon. Maybe I could send a long distance message, but the amount of coin to do that wouldn't be worth it. *I have noticed settlements are quite... isolated -You say that like that's not normal. Is it different where you are from? *Well, um, yeah, a bit. -Oh no, it looks like someone's trying to start a fight. I apologize for their behavior. (He stands to leave.) I didn't catch your name, what is it? (The interviewer has already left) -Strange. So what have we learned? (This is mostly for me lol) Alice is closed to discussion about most personal topics because of her mistrust of other people. She's very grounded and is willing to end a conversation she doesn't like Aspen likes to elaborate. He's pretty friendly and seems to have a good relationship with his sister. His parents seem to still be alive, but like Alice, he isn't in contact with them. He also likes his job at the not so great library for unknown reasons Willow is Aspen's hyperactive younger sister who seems to like to tease him Aaaand the interviewer accidentally got character development and a mysterious backstory. Oops. I'll probably do this again, it seemed to work out pretty well ^^
