Gingerstripe was going to be Greyfur's mate, but she was badly wounded in the Battle of Clans. She survived the battle, but just before the ceremony, she died from her wounds. Greyfur sits in Moonlight Field every night, dreaming of Gingerstripe. Then one night, Gingerstripe is right there, smiling down. The only difference is that she is translucent and her eyes are blank and lifeless. Greyfur promises her that he will always remember her and will never have another mate again.
