Fire Gobo grew giant somehow! He is now fighting the Dark Tower, in which Dark Gobo resides. Press space to launch fire. Keep it pressed until the health meter changes for the Dark Tower. Then press it again in 3 seconds. This will block the laser attack.
Kudos to whoever made the Mario & Luigi series for the inspiration.
