Ok, so this is the backstory: Long ago there were two races: the Fire and the Water. They thought eachother to be evil and horrible and were always at war. One day, Kima was born. She was Fire. She was told she was too small, but either way was blindly tossed into combat. Kima did not like war, she prefferred to appreciate the beauty of everything- even the Water. One day, Jem was born. He was Water. He was told he would be of great use, the big, muscular fox he was. He loved the war- it brought out his power and anger. One day, Jem was battling when he spotted a young Fire sitting on a fallen log. He rushed forward, aiming to kill her, but then he noticed she was not battling, but humming and watching the birds. Enfuriated, he yelled at her to fight back so he could kill her. She looked quite scared and left. Jem was mad at himself for not sneaking up on her. The next day, he got another chance. She was in the same spot, humming. He snuck up behind her, but hesitated long enough for her to notice him. She did not scream or jump, only said "You have beautiful eyes, they are like the ocean." Confused, Jem jumped back, once again ordering her to fight him. She would not. Jem did not know why, but her liked this small Fire. Their meetings continued day after day, month after month, and they fell in love. Kima and Jem were made for eachother, and soon realized that the war should stop and the races should cooperate, but they could not tell anyone. Being caught with the other race was punishable by death. One day, they were caught. Kima's father found them sitting on the abandoned log and informed the police. Kima was forgiven because she was younger, but Jem was not. They beat him and Kima cried. Jem, hurt and crying, backed up onto his own territory. The police left. Crying, Kima begged him to come back, to promise that he would return tomorrow. Sadly, he said, "Promises are like stars, they are delicate and beautiful, but their light is easily blocked out, and after a while they disappear." Then, he turned away and did not look back, not even to see if Kima was alright. So there Kima sat for eternity, waiting for her lost love to return. She never moved, never stopped crying. Nobody could make her. To this day, if you go to this fallen lkog, you shall se a pale red fox sitting and crying golden flames. These golden flames are the stars, and, if you look to them, each one represents another day, another promise.
