CBCC 5000 is a GP40-2 built for the DRGW but never shipped out. It was bought by ESRP a former Class 2 in Northern California. After it's shuttering in 1999 it was sold to a Texas company along with a C630. The company wanted to use the locomotives for lease service but it never happened. The locomotives sat in Robstown Texas with changes such as: The Nathan M5 being replaced by a Nathan K3H, Dynamic brakes being removed due to it being faulty and unneeded. In 2021 it was sold to CBCC while the C630 was sold to SURX and is going to be donated to a museum. CBCC did minor repairs and put it into service. Soon it is going to be repainted and renumbered.
