He couldn't sleep that night, so he researched Maddy. Nothing pulled up under her name except for a newspaper article. It dated back 21 years ago, when Maddy was taken. "The Rehabilitation Project" he read. They took homeless children and gave them hero level training and a place to live. There was a picture of a small, curly haired girl that he recognized as Maddy. She didn't look happy to be "rehabilitated" like the article claimed. He did some research on the corporation and found that they were shut down 2 decades ago for mistreating and abusing minors. That would mean they kept her even after the project had ended. No one learned to fight like that in just one year, it takes years of training. So what they did with her couldn't be legal. Did she not know that she had the right to leave them, that the project had ended? He would talk with her about all this in the morning. He closed his laptop and trudged downstairs and into his bed. It was late and he had an interesting day. For now, he would sleep. Tomorrow will come when it comes
