Instructions

BEST VIEWED IN FULL-SCREEN MODE This program allows the users to create chords using the first six notes of each string of the guitar. In addition to the ability to make their own chords, users can also select pre-made major chords from the toolbar. The program will indicate the note being played on each string as well as the chord played when appropriate. Instructions can be found below and viewed within the program by clicking on the button in the upper left. USER INSTRUCTIONS: Use the up and down arrows to switch between strings, or click on the string indicator to activate it. The currently active string is highlighted green. Use the left and right arrows to move the finger placement of the active string. Moving the fret indicator to the far left plays the string open, indicated by a light blue highlight. Fret indicators on string that are not currently active or open will be highlighted in yellow. Labels on the far left indicated the note currently set for each string. Press "M" to toggle the active string between muted and played. Muted strings will be highlighted red. Press space or click the "Strum" button to play the strings in the current fingering configuration. Click any of the lettered buttons across the top of the screen to view and play the corresponding chord. Press R of click the "Reset" button to reset all strings to open.
