The sprites are free to use, just credit me please! :) This is a mars base parallax I made for the new Scratch Design Studio "Somewhere Out There". This is a small mars base I made up called "Base Olympus". Base Olympus has a large dome for conducting experiments, servicing the air along with other functions for the base, and growing plants. The small dome contain rooms and small gardens for the crew of 15 that live in the base. The dark grey dome with the green stripe is the nuclear power plant. The kind of energy plant you usually expect for not-too-distant future sci-fi bases have solar panels, which are here. But, The sun is farther away from Mars, and even then the skies can be covered with dust storms that can usually last for WEEKS at a time. So most of Base Olympus's electric functions rely on nuclear fission. Then there are the rocket pads, where the Mars shuttles land to replace the 15 crewmates after their 685-day mission. The massive array of radar dishes are the 230,000,000 kilometer connection between Mars and Earth. The small object in the background is a small research camp to learn more about the Red Planet. Of course, there's no easier way to visit these points right now than by using the MTVs (Martian Transport Vehicles). So far, Base Olympus is a measly little mars colony, mainly planted to experiment with the sort, but who knows? With a proper space-supporting government, maybe this colony will be a Mars utopia, humanity's first planetary home away from Earth.
