"You can leave now, Father," Charles said, looking into Archie's stoic face, which threatened to twist with worry. "I've been here a million times. 1196, to be exact. I'll be fine. Go back to the palace." Archie's silver eyes glinted in the sunlight as he eyed his oldest son. "Are you sure you'll be fine?" asked Archie. Charles nodded in response, his small, pale hand grabbing Archie's as much as he could. Charles tried his best not to go into his Timens mode, his golden eyes switching back and forth from his shining, liquid gold tint to his deep ocean blue hue. He couldn't control it, but he still tried, hoping that one day he would be able to. Archie sighed and patted Charles's head, making Charles let go of Archie's hand. "See you, Father. Bring back candy," Charles said. "Candy?" Archie echoed, stifling a chuckle as he looks at his son. "41 years old, and you still ask me to bring back candy?" "Well, what else are you supposed to bring me? Oh, and you still need to build me that aquarium," Charles said. "It has to be bigger than the palace, so the fish have a lot of room to swim around in. Also, you need to-" "Okay, Charles, I'll work on the aquarium, and I'll ask Lucifer to help, as well," Archie said with a slight, brief chuckle. "Good, Father. Now leave and bring candy when I come out of Dr. Woodgate's office," Charles said, waving goodbye as Archie left, him heading for the palace and Charles heading for Dr. Woodgate. --- Charles wasn't alone in the family room -- also known as the waiting room -- this time. Jodi was in there, as well. Jodi smiled warmly and waved when she saw Charles at the doorway to the living room. Charles returned the smile and wave, and walked over, sitting down next to Jodi. "Hey, Charles," Jodi said. "Hey, Jodi," Charles replied. "So, why are you here?" "I'm getting medicine for Father," Jodi answered. "Why are you here?" "Doctor's appointment," Charles said simply. "I come here every week." Jodi nods. "Are you nervous?" Charles shakes his head. "Dr. Woodgate is nice to me. I'm not worried." Charles stops. "If you're here for medicine, why would you have to wait?" Jodi shrugs. "I guess he wants to talk to the patients first," Jodi said. "Hmm... maybe Bandit is worried about you, and he sent you here to talk about..." Charles stopped, for he knew that Jodi knew what he was talking about. Jodi looked down. "It /is/ kind of hard on me," Jodi said. "I mean, seeing that scar on Kirei's right arm every day... Charles, /I/ did that to her." "You were protecting yourself, though," Charles pointed out. "I know, but... it's still my sister." Jodi looked away, and for the rest of the period while Charles was waiting for Dr. Woodgate, the two sat in silence. --- Charles sat at the chair he always sat at- the one that made him face Dr. Woodgate as the psychiatrist sat at his desk, staring Charles down with a professional, slightly intimidating, yet welcoming smile. "Hello, Charlie," Dr. Woodgate said. "Don't call me Charlie!" shrieked Charles, then he falls quiet, blushing slightly from embarrassment, quickly squeaking out a "Sorry," to the surprised psychiatrist. Dr. Woodgate didn't back up, nor get mad because he was yelled at. He instead smiled. "It's okay. That was a error on my behalf. I'm sorry, Charles. I'll be more careful in the future. You'll forgive me for this, yeah?" Charles nodded. "Yeah," Charles replied. "Alright. Now, Charles," Dr. Woodgate began, "which personalities-" "People." "Right, sorry. Which /people/ were you today?" "Myself, Timens and Quintessence." "Quintessence?" "Quinn, some people call it. But that's not his name." "Charles, you never told me about him before." "Yes, I did. I just called him Quinn because that's what people call him." Dr. Woodgate nods. "Can you remind me what he's like?" "He's stoic, emotionless, and isn't bothered by much. He /does,/ however, get bothered by people who call him Quinn." "Do you know why?" Charles shakes his head. "I guess he likes the name I gave him. It means the "unknown element;" it also means the fifth element that brings the world together." Dr. Woodgate nods again, intrigued by Charles's enigmatic person. "How many times has Quintessence come out since you've had your disease." "It's not a disease. The people are all nice, and they like me." "Right, sorry. How many times has Quintessence came out since all the people... became friends with you?" "A few days after Timens comes out. So he gives me enough time to be myself." Dr. Woodgate nods. "You said you like all of these people?" "Yes, even Ranger." "Who's your favorite?" "Besides myself?" "Besides yourself." Charles looks down in thought. After a few long, silent minutes, Charles looks up and says, "I can't decide between Timens and Quintessence." "Why Timens?" "He's good at protecting people and taking care of people. But Quintessence likes me more." Charles smiled. "Quintessence is the kindest of all of them. Even kinder than myself." "That's nice,"(+)

Description

(+) Dr. Woodgate says, flipping over a paper on his desk. "So, Archie said that you think you can communicate with your people?" Charles nods. "I can. Through a mirror," Charles said. "A... mirror?" A Fallen Angel (aka a human) psychiatrist would be worried for Charles, but since a vast majority of the people in Sage Kingdom are mages, sorcerers, and Fallen Angel witches and warlocks, Dr. Woodgate was intrigued. "Can you tell me more?" Charles nods as he takes a deep breath. When he exhales, he begins to tell Dr. Woodgate how he can communicate with them. {}{}{} Sorry for such a long story!
