Yeah, so I'm experiencing some emotional distress atm, and decided to write a story to help ease my pain. What y/n is experiencing in this story is basically me this week. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You take a deep breath as you sling your school bag over your shoulder. It was empty of school supplies because this is your first day back, even though it's in the middle of the year. You were hospitalized in a long term facility for the past 7 months, attempting to improve your mental health. You were excited to see your friends again, since it's been so long since you've seen them. They all wished you well before you left, promising to wait on you. You're best friend, who is not the physically affectionate type, even gave you a hug before you left. Your grip tightened on the shoulder strap as you walked into the busy hallway. All the people wandering around you gave you anxiety. You spotted your friends and called out to them, but they didn't turn around. Them must've not heard you. You walk up to them and tap your best friend on the shoulder. They turned to face you, looked you up and down, then said, "Oh, you're back. Nice to see you." Then they turned back to everyone else and continued their conversation. You were a little hurt by that and decided to look around the small crowd. There was a girl that your friend group used to hang out with years ago, but who was deemed toxic and you guys slowly stopped including her. Since when did she hang out with them again? You waved to her, but she rolled her eyes at you, sneering. You look down and decide to head to the library alone. You sat in the corner and waited for the bell to ring, but you had your next class with that girl, so you just stayed in the corner. You avoided your friends all week after that, and they did nothing to try and see if you were okay or try to include you. The day you finally work up the nerve to approach your former best friend, she told you, "We just don't trust you anymore." You come back by saying, "But you trust her? She's a terrible person! I thought we decided that years ago." Your old friend shrugged, "She has bad days, she has good days." then they walked away, leaving you hurt in the middle of the hallway. You endure the rest of the day until you get home. You decide to take your dog out for a walk and you spot your neighbor, Deku. He calls out to you, "Hey, y/n! I heard you were back, how you feeling?" You smile slightly and drop your dogs leash, as they were tugging to go say hello to Deku. Your dog has always loved him, even though you don't see him that often. "I'm doing kinda okay, I guess. You're the first person to ask me that," you admit. Deku picks up your dog's leash when they get to him and pulls you into a hug when you get close enough. "I missed you y/n. I hope you're doing better now." You started tearing up. Deku was the only one to give you a hug and ask you how you were feeling since you've gotten home. He noticed you crying and pulled back, "Hey, hey. What's wrong?" You explained to him about your friends and how they've treated you since you've gotten home. He frowned and said, "Then they were never true friends. Don't worry, I'll stand by your side. You'll have me, even if they're being horrible to you." You bury your face in his shoulder and sob. He holds you close and murmurs that it'll be okay.
So yeah, I was hospitalized and just got back last week. My friends are treating me very similarly and are all hanging out with an extremely toxic girl that we used to hang out with. Now they all act just like her and when I confronted my former best friend about it, he told me, "We just don't trust you. Say what you want." then walked away. He told me that like 10 minutes before I started writing this. Unfortunately I don't have a Deku in my life. My heart hurts.
