FLASHBACK Hawks is now five years old. The other day, he was a hero, though no one believed him when he told them. He told the gray haired woman, who's name was Raven, and she only laughed and patted his back. He saved a whole family from a car wreck, and no one believed him. Since they were homeless, none of them saw the news that night. There were pictures of Hawks and his feathers minimizing damage and pulling people out of the car. What they did notice though, were the black vans that pulled up to their spot under the bridge the next morning. A stern looking woman with pale hair tied back into a tight bun got out of the first van and called out for whoever was in charge. Raven stepped forward and said, "We don't want any trouble." The woman pursed her lips and said, "We just want the boy. He made quite a name for himself and we're looking for children with potential." Raven called Hawks over and looked the woman up and down again. "Hawks, this woman wants to know if you would like to go with her." The woman held out her hand and smiled slightly, "Hawks, is it? What a fitting name for such a young hero. If you come with me, I can make you into a famous hero, a real one. After what you did yesterday, you have the option to come with me." Hawks was distrusting at first, but the thought of becoming a hero made him change his mind about her. "Will I have my own bed?" he asked. The woman nodded, "Of course. And as much food as you can eat." Hawks' eyes lit up "I'll go! I don't really have anything to pack though." The woman took his small hand and walked him to the van. "Don't worry about that, all that is needed is your guardian signs a few papers and we can leave." After that day, Hawks never looked back.
