I basically just added a car and music to @kriblo's project. I changed his code slightly, but nothing substantial. I drew the car based on various photos. I made the music in BeepBox, and the title is "On the Road". The inspiration for the music mainly comes from the Peter Gunn theme, which was used in the game Spy Hunter, which I used to play on the C64 as a kid.
