“He will set us free”. That was what the ink said. After chopping away the planks, Kat had walked down a short corridor that led to a staircase leading to “Utility Shaft 9”. She had discovered that there were other messages written in ink(?). This message was above a countertop decorated with candles, with a printed out picture of the iconic mascot, Bendy, ironed onto the wall. That was the thing; these Bendy pictures were everywhere. Not only that, life size cardboard cutouts too. Continuing on her way, Kat came across two hallways, and, what looked like to be a tape recorder set on a desk. The desk just had to be decorated with eerie candles and, of course, a picture of Bendy. Above the recorder was another message; “deceived”. Kat had no idea what that meant, and she didn't want to make more worries for herself, so she began fiddling with the recorder. She sat down to give her arms a break and quietly set the axe down beside her. Leaned against the desk, she took the recorder and examined it, front to back, back to front. Clueless on how these seemingly ancient things worked, she tried to get the tape out by jamming her finger into the bottom of the slot, similar to removing a LEGO from another LEGO. With failure, her finger shot across the recorder and then dropped it. Stunned by her own clumsy movements, she sat in silence for a minute or two. She took a couple deep breaths, then examined herself. Her brown boots were broken down and torn at her shin, now covering only her ankles and below. Her navy blue pants were shredded, only covering her knees. Her light-ish blue jacket had seen better days as well, but somehow the faded red bow tie she had added onto her little uniform was still in pristine condition. Collecting herself once again, she reached for the recorder. It was only then she noticed there were miniature buttons included with the design, so with caution she pressed the one that resembled the iconic ‘play’ symbol. Seemingly immediate, a dark and frail voice began to echo throughout the room. "He appears from the shadows to rain his sweet blessings upon me…” Kat simply sat, frozen in place. She figured she was knocked out on the floor for about an hour until she woke up. Surely it hadn’t been that long since she heard a human voice? Despite her worries, Kat continued to listen to the dusty recorder. “Those old songs, yes, I still sing them. For I know you are coming to save me. And I will be swept into your final loving embrace.” Love. It made Kat think. She never had a partner before. It never bothered her. Yet somehow, the descriptive words of ‘loving embrace’ made Kat long for a sense of belonging. That feeling didn’t last long. “But, love requires sacrifice. Can I get an amen?" The recorder buzzed, then ended the audio log, leaving Kat once again in total silence. Some would be happy with being alone, overjoyed, even, but being trapped in a strange place alone? Kat didn’t find that exciting. Sacrifice. Somehow, that whole line alone added onto the eerie factor. Hands covered in bruises and cuts, Kat hesitantly picked up the axe and once again slung it over her shoulder. She adjusted her police jacket so that it was now tied around her waist. A fashion choice she never would’ve gone with, but it was hot in the depths of the studio and decided that survival was indeed more important in this case. She dusted off her police cap that was now almost in shreds and set it back on her head backwards. Slowly getting up from the floor, she trudged along through the studio, her boots making a somewhat satisfying shuffle noise against the wooden flooring. Soon, Kat entered a room that almost terrified her. No doubt, this was a connection to the missing case of Sammy Lawrence. A big sign welcomed her. “Music Department”.

Notes ----------------------------------------------------------------- hey, so the original upload schedule would be that uploads on scratch would be one chapter behind, so i'd be free to answer questions about upcoming things, but since i've been slow on projects recently here! on the other hand, i've received lots of support for previous chapters which makes me SUPER happy! i feel that writing in general (not just fanfiction) is incredibly underrated on this website which is a shame considering all these outstanding upcoming authors. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Credits ----------------------------------------------------------------- music - 'biggering' from the Lorax Demo batim - themeatly and mike mood fanfiction - @cloudy_wing
