<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Raw Materials IMPORTANT: FISH ROTS AFTER 2 YEARS You may need to go inside to see clearer Each of these resource tags will have a rough "sphere of influence", where it applies. Key: 1-5 how productive it is (with resources such as minerals, timber, and energy, this specifies how many tonnes you can take out per year; e.g. T4 means 40,000 tonnes of timber. With soil and pasture, this means how much you can grow on it). Raw materials/natural resources: Organic/environmental: ⦁Soil (S) — necessary to grow crops. All land apart from pure icy or desert land is assumed to be S1 unless otherwise stated. ⦁Timber (T) — to make wooden structures. All land apart from pure icy or desert land is assumed to be T1 unless otherwise stated. ⦁Fish (F) — a food source. All ocean is assumed to be F1 unless otherwise stated. ⦁Pasture (P) — necessary to raise animals. All land is assumed to be P1 unless otherwise stated. ⦁Food commodities (e.g. honey, berries, fruit etc.) (Fc) — useful if anybody will pay for them Minerals: Metal: ⦁Bauxite (Al) — needed to make aircraft and other light metal objects. Must be refined before use. ⦁Copper (Cu) — needed for electronics/electricals, and shells. Must be refined before use. ⦁Iron (Fe) — needed to make steel for ships, tanks, weapons etc. as well as infrastructure. Must be refined before use. ⦁Lead (Pb) — needed for batteries, weapons. Must be refined before use. ⦁Tin (Sn) — used in electronics, aircraft, etc. Must be refined before use. ⦁Zinc (Zn) — used in shipbuilding, electronics. Must be refined before use. Rare: ⦁Chemical compounds (e.g. sulphur, phosphorus, hydrogen, lithium) (Cc) — various, including making airships, electronics, bombs. ⦁Radioactives (Ur) — needed for nuclear power plants, nuclear warships, and atom bombs. Must be refined before use. ⦁Precious metals (e.g. Gold, Silver) (Au) — used in electronics. Handy cash commodity. Must be refined before use. ⦁Jewels (Je) — used in electronics. Handy cash commodity. Stone: ⦁Granite (Gr) — used for construction. All mountains are assumed to be Gr1 unless otherwise stated. ⦁Clay (Cl) — used for construction ⦁Lime (Lm) — needed for making concrete, cement ⦁Gravel (Gv) — needed for making concrete, cement ⦁Sand (Sa) — needed for making concrete, cement Energy: ⦁Coal (Co) — used to power industry, steam-powered vehicles, and ships. ⦁Oil (Ol) — used to power industry, ships, and vehicles, and made into plastic. Must be refined before use. ⦁Natural gas (Ng) — can be used similar to oil, but may not be used for vehicles. Must be refined before use. ⦁Rubber (Rb) — needed to make vehicles and aircraft. ⦁Tar (Tr) — used for construction.
