I'm Tired. I've been trying to force up some art for the rant (my previous project) and a follow-up. I'm in a serious art block-like state for, reasons. (edit: art is now done.) I've found art is necessary if I want people to view one of the most important projects on my profile. People subscribed for art, so I have to shove it in their faces to get them to view my actually important stuff. I do need a follow-up to the previous project, because obviously a few people didn't understand all the way, which is fine. I didn't think about what I was saying and how it could be misunderstood. Here's a brief overview, though: -I was always going to give credit to Erin Hunter, that's simply not the issue. 9/10 times people will find the episode or Fated because of their previous love of Warrior Cats, nobody is confusing me as the original. -I'm not afraid of getting taken down, because it's scratch, copyright practically doesn't exist here (which doesn't mean its okay to just go copyrighting everyone and everything, which is actually a [serious] problem here on scratch). That's not the issue either. The issue is if it is morally right to be able to take somebody's work, give the bare minimum of credit- or even all the credit in the world for own gain? By 'gain' I don't mean monetary, I mean popularity- which, actually, for some scratchers can lead to monetary gain, but I don't consider myself on that path by any means. You see it a lot on scratch when other people remix work and change barely anything then proceed to give the bare minimum of credit. And the original scratcher gets frustrated because that kind of thing is actually protected by scratch. Some people are okay with it and some aren't, and that's okay! However I don't know if Erin Hunter collectively (as they are multiple people, all with separate ideas and opinions) would be okay with it. That's the issue. And of course, [you may do whatever you'd like.] I know that this topic can be kind of weird with many of my followers, as the vast majority of you are making your own series that follow fandoms closely. However I strongly feel that just because an important topic makes us uncomfortable, it doesn't mean we should ignore it. Trust me when I say, I [love] Call of Spirits (and Fated). I love the story, I love the art, everything has come together so well and I hate myself for doing the same thing I did with Moss years ago. It's for a different reason though, and a strictly more important reason. Actually, I don't think I'll make another separate follow-up. I think this sums it up. Thank you, and I sincerely wish you a happy day. Art coming soon.
