Adjust the settings, then click or tap the "Fire!" button to launch the projectiles (balls in this case)! See how far they can go. Fullscreen recommended for visibility and precision!
Teachers, feel free to use this project in your physics classes! When an object travels through air, water, etc., it experiences a force slowing it down, called "drag." Here, the drag is estimated as being proportional to the square of each ball's speed. Inspired by Math is Fun's projectile animation: https://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/projectile-animation.html Cannon sound effect from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_f9vrlHYW0 --- CHANGELOG --- • (11/28/2021) - Changed the color of the word "Launch" on the first dropdown panel from cyan to blue to make it more readable. • (12/1/2021) - Added a new firing sound effect: "Ricochet". • (3/13/2022) - Added an arrow to the projectile's starting position to visualize the launch speed and angle. • (6/17/2022): The distance and height should now update when a ball touches the edge of the screen. Gravity and negative angles are also supported! • (10/9/2022): The arrow for the launch speed and angle will now hide during a ball's launch. This avoids confusion when changing the variables in the "Launch" menu during the ball's launch. • (10/10/2022): Added more colors for each ball. #physics #projectile #motion #simulation
