Evan's dad is very religious. He was also abusive towards Evan and his mom. He didn't like it when Evan started hanging out with Copy because Copy was gay. When Evan starts to have feelings for Copy he confesses to him and Copy feels the same way. Evan was very happy but he was very scared. Evan's mom invited Copy over for dinner much to Evan's dad's dismay. At the dinner, Evan slipped up saying that he and Copy were together. His father was extremely upset and attacked Copy. Evan's mother intervened and Copy left while they were arguing. That night Evan was planning to run away. His mom caught him. She was sympathetic and she helped him back up and leave.
