Her brother, Jay, became quickly jealous of her intelligence and kindness. On her sixteenth birthday, Jay said he was going to show her a personal “surprise”. They got to a cliff and he said he was going to go get it. She then gazed across the ravine, admiring the deep blue color. When Jay asked if she liked the ravine, she nodded. Then with that he said “welcome home, Rui” then pushed her over the edge. Now she spends her days trying to find her way up and out. Even though she sometimes loses hope, she never gives up. And she’s still searching. Never quitting, always believing. |~|
