(Slight flash/flicker warning) Contest was my first scratch OC. I made him for a contest thing, and I never even named him. Then I made his backstory… Contest was unintentionally born in an experiment lab. He had no name, no family (except his psycho mother), and the lab workers didn’t know what to do with him. Eventually, the boss decided that they wouldn’t experiment on this cat, but they would turn him into what they had been testing on for years. They would make him a contest winner. He would be extremely smarter under pressure, and his mind would give him both physical and mental strength when challenges occurred. He would win every contest that would come upon him. The transformation took a very long time, and at first it didn’t seem to bad. Contest was just extremely jumpy and anxious. Then things got weird. The first strange thing that happened, was how Contest’s fear and anxiety suddenly disappeared, and was replaced with screaming. At random points in the day, he would yell and hiss for what seemed no reason. He didn’t seem at all scared, or mad, or even sad. It was as if whenever he tried to say something it would turn into a yell. Eventually, the lab workers ended up having to sew his mouth shut. Things were pretty normal after that, except for a few small things, like how Contest was absolutely obsessed with clocks. He would stare at them whenever he got the chance, and freak out when someone tried to move him away. There was short discussion of getting rid of all the clocks in the lab, but they ended up just blocking Contest’s eye sight. But, whenever he heard a clock ticking, he would try to stay near it, and struggle slightly when he had to leave. After that, whenever even the slightest of a challenge would appear, Contest would faint a few seconds later if that challenge didn’t subside. Experimenters realized that this was caused from his heartbeat increasing rapidly and not slowing down. The lab workers fixed this problem, but ended up putting a heart rate monitor on Contest’s tail just in case. After a while, the lab workers realized that Contest had been venturing out from his enclosure and lurking in the abandoned part of the lab almost every night. A “guard” was posted outside of Contest’s sleeping place, but when the guard tried to stop the cat, he scratched the lab worker who died soon after for mysterious reasons. After that, Contest was allowed to go around the lab whenever he wanted. When the experiment was complete, the lab workers put Contest into an enclosure with a few other cats. Contest could now speak, walk, and act properly, though no one knew what was going on in his mind. There was a fluffy white and orange Van cat, a short black tabby with a white belly, and a tiny black she-cat. The Tom cat with orange on his ears and back was always bragging, and it annoyed Contest. Beach was just always making fun of Contest’s name. Finally, with lab workers watching close behind through a glass window, Beach said something about how he was more worthy to have the black tabby (Gemstone) as a mate then Contest was. In a few seconds, the orange and white cat called Beach was up against the wall, tufts of fur missing from his body. After the fight, Gemstone had fallen in love with Contest. And, after a few days time she told him. Contest said he loved her back and they escaped together. But, after a small amount of time, Contest told Gemstone that he didn’t love her, and broke her heart. Contest’s emotions were altered to much, and he became un able to fall in love, along with a few other things. Most assume that Contest is haunted by his terrible past, but, he acts as if it is normal, even though he knows it’s not. He is almost always confident (due to his altered nature), and is never nervous. A lot of the time, he appears bored instead of sad, and he physically CAN’T give up. Thx for reading!
