Reiqu got abandoned from her loved ones when she was first born. She had the power to change others moods due to her gem on her forehead. Her parents didn't want her runing their lives, so they left her at the pound alone. The pound had the same reason and just left her in the road. For 20 years she stayed in the same spot thinking her owners will come back, but they never did. Eventually she lost hope and left.
