This is very long but I needed to get this extra stress out of my system. :p You mountaineers might know where this is lol. Okkayyy Today around 3:00 on my way back from school, I noticed some smoke coming for a nearby field. I thought it was a large bonfire to burn extra wood. Well on our way to the highway, we saw flames coming for the smoke area. There was a wild fire. :o Earlier that day, there was a thunderstorm that hit my school. It lasted about 30 minutes and left. It’s thought that lighting form that storm caused the fire. Well fast forward to about 6:50 today, I look outside and there a huge cloud of smoke right over the complex. Of course, I start to freak out a bit. But I live close to some big buildings that cost a lot of money so I wasn’t to scared. After a while the power went out. The fire was getting too close to some power lines and the electric current that went through them was cut by the city to prevent too much damage to the lines. I started to get really scared, Mostly that I would have to be in a very dark, quiet room with fire raging 12 miles away. Keep in mind that I have a 4 year old sister that cried for an hour straight in not kidding. Around 7:15, the cloud of smoke went from brown to black, blowing large lumps of ash you could feel on your skin. It was awful. I rushed inside and hide in my room with my siblings. I started “packing” (a way I dealt with the stress of the fire) up things like zbars, water, my tablet and computed, favorite things etc. finally I heard rain. The storm that had started the fire only hours earlier had returned to put it out. (I’m not exactly sure it’s the same storm but the news is still trying to figure out what happens so I really don’t know.) By 8:15 the smoke was gone, the power had returned, and I could stop pacing around the house. Everyone was so glad the fire was gone, my sister danced around the house singing,” the fire is gone! I didn’t die! We are not dead” it was very funny XD. It’s 9:00 now and there is still a slight drizzle outside. I smell like smoke and the air quality is now awful(I bet you know where I live lololol). If the rain had not come, so many houses could have been burned down, maybe even my own. I am very grateful for the timing of the rain! Here are some pictures I took while outside. September Friday 10, 2021 at 6:54 and 7:00 Have a good day or night! The title is a little play on “My Stick” lol. This is not an “I almost died” type thing. Because I didn’t almost die. I guess I wanted to say,“wow I saw a fire and got super scared” or something Idk
