Emberheart's Story There once was a cat named Emberheart who lived in Dustclan. He had a brother named Oakleaf, but something set him apart form other cats-Emberheart had blood-red eyes. Sometimes his clanmates would stare at him, but since they were kits, Tigerfang would tease him about turning evil. He wanted to run off, but at the same time, he couldn't. He loved some-cat, and that was Dawnpelt. Tigerfang also liked her, and everyday he would bring fresh-kill and "impress" her with his stories. He couldn't contain his laugh when one day Dawnpelt rolled her eyes at Tigerfang when he wasn't looking. But one day, his anger broke. He decided to leave the clan and live in the out-skirts of the territory. So that night, he ran away. One moon later he decided to run away for good. But first he had to say good bye to Dawnpelt. But when he got to the outside of the camp, something was wrong. No one was coming out. He ran inside and gasped. The camp was on fire! A group of cats were waiting near the entrance. They were waiting for someone, but who? Suddenly Dawnpelt raced out of the fire. She was carrying Mosskit. Just as they ran out, a burning log fell in there way. They had no escape. Emberheart couldn't stare and feel helpless. He had to do something. He raced towards the log and grabbed a stick producing form the log and shoved it aside. He yowled at Dawnpelt to run. Despite what just happened in the last 10 seconds, she ran as fast as she could towards the huddling group. Emberheart felt the flames growing hotter on his pelt. He closed his eyes and waited for his death. But.....instead on growing hotter, the flames felt warm. He opened his eyes. Flames danced at his feet. He was immune to fire! Later that evening when the fire was put out, Kinkstar had a clan meeting about Emberheart. It turned out that a cat with eyes as red as blood would have power over the heat and fire. That was Emberheart. Dawnpelt also returned his love for her back and they decided to become mates. But his happily ever after did not last long. One day when he was patrolling the borders, he heard bushes rustle behind him. Before he could turn around, Tigerfang leaped on him. He was angry that Dawnpelt didn't love him and that Emberheart was the center of attention. And he killed him.
