Hey everyone! This is a remake of a relatively recent project, wanna know why I'm remaking it? There's two reasons. One, to show just simple two month improvement. Two, cause I want to spread a message. If you notice the song sounding different, it's because it is. It is a newer version of the song. This version has a new singer, and the main singer had been on estrogen for about a year-ish(?) and probably did some voice therapy/training to change her voice, as sadly taking estrogen doesnt change voices who have been through male puberty. She started her physical transition with hormones in July 2014, when this version of the song was uploaded on Spotify in 2015. The original version (the one in the original project I made) was made in 2012, and as you can hear, her voice changed a lot through training and work. And you know, she did this transition to benefit herself. She was born in the wrong body, and she did this transition to make it feel more right. I would've gotten the 2021 recording but I can't afford it. Anyway, getting back on track here, I think she sounds absolutely gorgeous in both of them and I do not have a preference. Some people do. I have seen people say, "I liked the old Steam Powered Giraffe more." "Isabella's voice was better before." And other things of that nature. My friend also told me someone said "The old cavetown was better." Now guys, saying the old ANYTHING is hurtful. I assume you maybe are an artist, right? That's like if someone said "I liked your old art more." What if when they said that they mean your seven year old artwork from when you were a kid. How does that make you feel. Bad, right? Yep, correct. Saying stuff like that is like saying that they didn't improve. That the WORK that they put in to improve and keep going with their art is all going to waste. And sure, they don't see these comments most of the time, but remember. They might. They might see this hurtful comment you made. Even if they don't, it's still terribly hurtful. Especially for transgender individuals. Saying "I liked your old voice better" to trans singers, is just horrible. You may have your opinions and that is just fine, but sharing it in that way. . . Some opinions need to be kept to you and you only. Some opinions hurt, remember that. Transgender people often take hormones to change their voice and appearance to match who they really are, and you saying their old voice was better. . I think you get what I mean. Opinions just seem like simple ideas sometimes, but when it's about stuff like I mentioned it is not okay to share it. You have your opinions, I have my opinions, you have your preferences, I have my preferences. It's all fine to have, but some can be very harmful to others. They can bring you and others down very easily. When someone changes it's often for their benefit and you criticizing that is just not right. Thank you for reading, Stay safe, you’re valid, you’re loved, you’re talented. -Ollie coding: @KeikoDraws Art: @KeikoDraws Oc: Atlas (comfortsona) Song: Honeybee by Steam Powered Giraffe (SteamWorld Heist version) Inspired: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/438363704 Remake of: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/557072809/
