Instructions

I changed the design a bit... Name: Vitrum (Look it up, it's glass in Latin) Gender: Female Backstory: Vitrum came into existence when the ocean accidently created a mold of seaglass that looked like a manokit. (Shark + cat, I didn't make this animal hybrid) Fish, sand, a starfish, and water filled it up. Elsewhere, a blue whale was dying. She found the glass container by chance and with the strange magic that appears only at death, gave the glass life. Vitrum was able to move. Somehow, her body was fully animated, and she was able to bend the glass she was made of without it breaking. Vitrum crawled onto land. The people on the beach were frightened and attacked Vitrum. Vitrum fled back to the ocean, and stayed in the twilight zone for hours until she was sure it was safe. She was lonely. Even the fish, who would live with her always, didn't care about her. Until she found Bojad. Bojad was a friendly dolphin, and was curious about Vitrum's shiny glass body. Bojad drifted down from his pod as they were passing by. His pod stopped to watch what he was doing. And for the first time in her life, Vitrum made a friend. Bojad and Vitrum loved each other. They played in the reef for hours. Vitrum learned dolphin-speak and soon was able to talk with Bojad. After many years, Vitrum and Bojad were swimming around the reef, when a shadow lunged out of the deep. The shark swam out of the deeper water and towards Bojad. The shark fought Bojad, struggling to bring him down. Bojad desperately tried to escape, but it was too much. Vitrum knew this would be the end for her friend. But when the shark was about to strike the killing blow, Vitrum shot like a glass arrow to Bojad. She knocked him out of the shark's mouth, but now she was the one in the shark's mouth. The shark slammed his teeth into her. Vitrum shattered. She may have been tougher than most glass, but this was too much. The shark thrashed and swam away, sharp glass poking the roof of his mouth. When Bojad was sure the shark had gone, he swam down to the shattered remains of his friend. Vitrum was gone. Sharp glass shards blew away with the current. Bojad mourned for his friend, who had sacrificed herself for him. Vitrum's pieces buried in the sand. Occasionally they drifted onto the beach, where children and adults alike picked them up and admired the glassy sheen. Vitrum would be forever loved by everyone who saw a piece of her beautiful body. This ending is bittersweet. Savor it. My stories usually only end bitter.
