The intro to Xinwen Lianbo Light, a former news program on the CRT family of channels in China from 1998 to 2001. The program focused on a mix of casual and regional news, compared to the political and economical focus of sister program Xinwen Lianbo at the time. It was cancelled in 2001, as the CRT decided to merge it into the main evening program. As a result, in comparison to its real life counterpart, Xinwen Lianbo also features the type of news seen on Light (in reality, XL is still a "mouthpiece" for the political party and as such focuses mainly on political news).
Additional info: XLL was the first news program in China produced in 16:9 (however, the 16:9 broadcasts were only on the CRT website, and as such is now lost outside of the intro due to poor documentation). Its companion, Xinwen Lianbo proper, switched in 2008. (the real Xinwen Lianbo did not switch to 16:9 until July 18, 2020)
