They are both royals and Nebula is a princess and Tankwing is a prince/general. The storyline here is that Nebula followed Tankwing into one of his battles. He tells her to go but when she does an enemy Sandwing rips her wings which sends her falling to the ground. Tankwing tries to grab her but was too late. Sad I know :<
