Katu and Freckles were dancing. Appaloosa was bothering strangers. Damien sat alone, his white mask set on his face. Two strangers sat in a corner. The black tom was wearing a white mask and cloak, and the white she-cat had matching black attire. Drake had decided to go and scout for Phantom, leaving Ibis with one of his guard buddies. Damien looked about, his ears had earrings. One chain earring. Drake noticed the large tom and padded over. He looked up. ``I see you came.`` "Yeah, I'm looking to see if Phantom is here." He glanced around, quickly analyzing the cats close to them. ``I told you, he was killed.`` He grabbed a drink. "I don't believe you, he got away with killing the king, he can probably cheat death." ``I would hope not..`` He looked out. The two strange cats were sitting alone by the stairs. Drake followed his gaze and narrowed his eyes at the black cat. A loud voice came from the top of the grand staircase. ``You never let your guard down, do you, Drake.`` "No, I don't. " He said coolly. A few cats ducked away from the stairs. The two strangers disappeared into the crowd. The voice came again, its familiar cold tone recognizable. ``Smart. You know. drowning isn't the best option for murder.`` "Come down here and face me." Drake growled, "Unless your a coward." The large grey tom started down the stairs, reaching the bottom with the flick of his tail. His normal half mask was replaced with a skull. ``Coward? Never.`` "Then why do you hide behind that mask of yours?" He stood up straight. ``It's a masquerade, isn't it? Why wasn't I invited, huh?`` he smirked. "Every other time I see you, you have it on." He pointed out, his eyes still narrowed. ``Youre judging me for the way I look?`` He snarled. A flash of grey, orange, and white zoomed by, grabbing Phantom's cloak. The cloak settled, revealing Makalu. Phantom snarled, the scars on his back showing. The two mysterious cats came forward. Phantom looked at them, fear soon flashing his silver gaze. ``Y-you can't...`` He breathed. The two cats looked up, their silver eyes flashing. Damien rushed forward. Drake just watched, not sure what was going on. Phantom staggered back and tripped over his tail. ``Sadly we couldn't save mother.`` The white she-cat said. Realization dawned over Drake as he watched. Phantom dashed away. The two cats nodded and left the party. The End, for now.
