Happy Pride Month, folks! June is my favorite month for many reasons and Pride is definitely one of them! As a way to celebrate this year, I made this small, hopefully joy-inducing, looping animation. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed making it ^.^ Please do remix! You could add onto this, switch out the artwork for your own, join me in dancing at the end, or whatever else you can imagine! I look forward to seeing what you might create :D There is a small amount of flashing light in the project, as a heads up. *boop* =^..^=
This project is on a loop. It will continue to play until you stop the project. Please do remix! You could add onto this, switch out the artwork for your own, join me in dancing at the end, or whatever else you can imagine! I look forward to seeing what you might create :D - - - - Huge thank you to @Rebeat for the original project. I saw your project a long time ago and absolutely loved it. I've been wanting to remix for awhile and have finally found some time to do so. I changed out all the artwork and how the code works as well as chopped the music up a bit but I tried to keep the spirit of your project alive in my own <3 Thanks so much for inspiring me! Artwork: Created in Illustrator, some pulled from past projects (always exciting to find new ways of using old creations :D) Music: a very tiny, looping portion of Gimme Gimme Gimme by ABBA Confetti from @scratchcat! - - - - - - - - What is Pride Month? According to the Library of Congress, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month (LGBT Pride Month) is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan. The Stonewall riots were a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. In the United States the last Sunday in June was initially celebrated as “Gay Pride Day,” but the actual day was flexible. In major cities across the nation the “day” soon grew to encompass a month-long series of events. Today, celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, workshops, symposia and concerts, and LGBT Pride Month events attract millions of participants around the world. Memorials are held during this month for those members of the community who have been lost. The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally.
