They were incredibly powerful in the art of battle and even without their kitsune-bi they were a powerful opponent, their only weakness was their averseness to water, and when it rained they would not come out. Thus when war times ended they were left with nothing and so they died. they had to quickly adjust to the lack of new offerings and they failed to do so.
