Instructions

Welcome to Loops! Loops is a quick and simple puzzle game. It will take you up to a few minutes, depending on your level of practice. Click the play button to begin. Your objective is simple: To move the dots around so that they are "sorted" by colour. (like a Rubik's cube! So all the red dots in a row, all the blue dots in a row, etc) You can do this by rotating the loop or loops of dots using the orange arrow buttons, as well as by merging and splitting the loop(s) with the rectangular button that will show either one or two loops on it. This button allows you to control whether the dots rotate in one big loop or two individual loops. Once you have all the colours together, you'll see your time and be able to see the leaderboard. Having trouble winning? Scroll to the bottom of the description for some strategies! Loops is mobile friendly but don’t expect to beat your high score on a phone! If you come across any bugs, please report them to me! I read all comments so you can describe the bug here or even share what it looked like with me through screenshots. The concept of this puzzle is entirely made up by me. I had inspiration from the Rubik's cube, a puzzle called the Astrolabicon (I want one desperately) and a cute puzzle on Kickstarter called the Torshn that's unfortunately widely agreed to be a creditless ripoff of the Astrolabicon. --- STRATEGIES TO WIN --- The main technique to beat loops is to group dots together colour by colour. Here's how you do that: See the pairs of dots in the middle that are on different loops in one mode and next to each other in the other mode? We'll use these to group dots together! Pick a colour, let's say, blue, and in the "split" mode (the one with two separate circles), rotate the two loops so that each side has a blue dot in those positions. This way, when you connect the loops by changing the mode, the dots will be connected together! Then rotate the loop so the dots won't be split up when you split again, and repeat! Once you've gotten two colours finished, it becomes a bit more difficult to finish while still keeping the colours together. You'll need to keep your two finished colours on different loops in the split mode, and if possible when you go into the continuous loop mode, you want the colours to be touching - so there's no rogue dots between them that will get in the way when you want to switch back to split mode.
