In front of him, an orange tom bit the neck of a tortoiseshell she-kit, "Ow!" Maplekit yelped. "S-sorry!" Amberkit gasped. Olmkit sighed "You're both playing wrong! Thunderclan is supposed to be winning!" "I wanted to be a medicine cat anyways! I hate this game!" Maplekit replied in annoyance as she sunk her claws into the ground. "Yeah you're too bossy Olmkit! Maplekit and I will go play somewhere else!" Olmkit watched miserably as his two littermates nodded to each other and trotted across the clearing near the freshkill pile to attack a old piece of moss. "Olmkit?" He spun around to see his mother, "Yes?" Tawnybird sighed and bent her head to groom his messy fur. Olmkit purred as he once again felt close with his mother (at least some cats care about me) "Olmkit.. You need to tell me what's wrong" Tawnybird meowed. "You know what's wrong, Maplekit said she wants to be a medicine cat! Medicine cats don't do anything! And-and, Amberkit s-said I'm too bossy!" Tawnybird purred, "Maybe you should let them choose who they wanna be, if Maplekit wants to be a medicine cat, let her be one" "But there will only be one warrior left! Who are they gonna fight? Ever since Pansykit, Sootkit, and Stemkit became apprentices all our games have been ruined!" His mother wrapped her tail around his small, brown body. “You're almost an apprentice, you'll finally soon be able to play with the other apprentices, Pansypaw, Sootpaw, and Stempaw will be excited to have your company.” “But two more moons till I'll be apprenticed, that'll take forever. They'll probably be warriors the time me, Maplekit and Amberkit become "paws"” Chapter 2 -- “Olmkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is now time for you to be apprenticed.” Olmkit was shaking with excitement, Acornstar's eyes were full of warmth and pride, “From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Olmpaw. Your mentor will be Silvermist.” Olmkit couldn't hear the rest of his leader's words as he stared at the gray she-cat who stepped beside him. “When can we begin training?” He whispered to his new mentor. Silvermist gave a small purr, “In a moment” Suddenly, around them their clanmates voices echoed around camp. "Maplepaw! Amberpaw! Olmpaw!" His littermates stood proudly beside him, their heads high with pride. Maplepaw had been given Swamp-pelt as her mentor, he had been a intelligent hunter, and Amberpaw had been given Sunstone, the fastest cat in Thunderclan! Close by, Sootpaw, Pansypaw, and Stempaw had excited looks on their faces while they were shouting out the new apprentices' names. Downpaw and Magpiepaw had been too. As the voices died out, Swamp-pelt padded up to the newly named apprentices, “Ready to see Thunderclan territory, Maplepaw?” “Of course!” squeaked Maplepaw. “Well come on then, if you want to be the best apprentice you'll have to start exploring now! Let's go.” “Wait.” Silvermist growled as she flicked her tail towards Amberpaw, Olmpaw, and Sunstone. “We're all coming too, don't get too excited with your "best apprentice."” (Best apprentice? Maplepaw? I thought she wanted to be a stupid medicine cat, she loves talking about medicine cats) Olmpaw thought as his mentor signaled him to follow( i'll be the best apprentice, just you wait and see)
