Instructions

Use arrow keys to move black square. This is a test project to see if I can make seamless, 2 way portals. It’s littered with bugs though. Feel free to remix if you find bug fixes for them! You are welcome to use this in your own projects too, but you need to copy ALL sprites (and please give credit)! Bug list: -Portals work only on 1 side -Sometimes portal doesn’t work -Player snaps to portal centre -What should happen when you go through the side of a portal? -Portal covers up background with big, white rectangle.

Description

How it works: Cube enters the portal. A clone is created facing the same direction relative to the other portal as the original is to the portal being entered. The original cube enters the portal and ‘disappears’ before it reaches the other side. It is actually hidden behind a rectangle that is the same colour as the background. Meanwhile, the clone does the opposite and appears from behind another rectangle, making it look like the original is emerging from the other portal. Then, when the cube has gone trough the portal, it is teleported to the clone, set to the same direction and then the clone is deleted. To be able to see how it works better, delete or hide the sprites called Portal A Mask and Portal B Mask.
