now presenting, the bards series :0 apparently i got attached to three separate bard or bard-adjacent characters?? and one is an oc?? so meet t h e m i guess!! they. don’t have a name atm but i don’t want to wait until they do have one to post this pfff
OKAY LORE TIME -- so this kinda changed since i uploaded a concept of them to my spam but basically they’re a traveling musician who's passion was kinda rejected by their parents because they're aristocrats and stuff and wanted their child to do more “useful” things :// also there’s a secondary thing where they started growing these small horn-like things on their head as a kid and their parents were like “huh that’s weird?? seems harmless though-” but tHEN when they were in their early teens they transformed into a strange beast while in an academy class which freaked everyone out, and they realized they had some... uncontrollable abilities. the local healers could not understand the cause, and there appeared to be no pattern. presently, they theorize that keeping themselves in a calm, collected state will keep the beast at bay (they are actually incorrect, the transformations really are random) and try to live by this. the few who know them well know their more rambunctious and playful side and hope that they learn to suppress it less in the future. that was VERY long but uh yeah it’s about to get longer /lh ;; i might draw their other form soon who knows- also yes i am aware that this is kinda werewolf adjacent LMAO but basically how their transformation works is that it kind of envelops them and once they’re fully transformed they don't lose their conscience but if they attempt to speak others will not be able to understand because they’ll just be. animal noises skjdksjd- the transformation breaks with time [between 4-8 hours] but this can be sped up with a dose of a concoction that medics in this world use for various magical ailments. and fyi, yes. they are terrified of the possibility of transforming on stage.
