This project is a showcase of the elements of hip-hop music. There's an MC, who points the microphone to the crowd asking for people to make noise (which is picked up by the loudness/microphone sensor block). The DJ has stored two complementary beats in the sound systems for you to click on. The B-boy and B-girl will dance to the beats they like. The dancing will leave virtual graffiti patterns on the dance floor using the pen blocks that are enabled for this projects (via the "more blocks" feature). The MC words, the music, and the pen/graffiti patterns can all be changed - to the taste of anyone who is playing.
This project is designed specifically to be used in a hands-on workshop offered by the crew at stemcees.com. We will use this project to discuss how the last element of hip-hop, knowledge of self, can be bolstered by developing knowledge of Scratch (and/or Sprites). Workshop participants are from the amazing typp.org program.
