Instructions

Yea so this one got a bit bigger than I expected. Controls are in-game! This game also supports gamepads, and those controls are also shown in-game. ALTERNATE CONTROL SCHEME: WASD to move/aim/look, J to jump, K to aim and shoot, L to switch bullets, and U to interact. If you'd like to play this in widescreen mode on Turbowarp, set the screen size to 640x360 pixels, and set your username to "timeseekerturbowarp" WITHOUT QUOTE MARKS by clicking edit > change username. I had a lot of fun making this, and I hope you have fun playing it! tags: #TIMEWARP #CGJ #Games

Description

Made for the Chaotic Game Jame 2 - Theme: Timewarp AND @theChAOTiC FAVED IT POG TIME SLOWS DOWN WHILE YOU AIM. THIS IS NOT A PERFORMANCE ISSUE. This game uses a HEAVILY modified version of @griffpatch 's tile scrolling engine. Thanks a lot for the help! Music and sound effects are by me, using Beepbox and sfxr. I didn't have too much time to make the music, sorry if it's not great! Unfortunately, towards the end of the jam, my PC started crashing quite frequently and I lost a lot of time to troubleshooting and so on. The story could definitely use some expansion, and the level design isn't great. The game's pretty short and easy, but that's par for the course with a game jam. Hopefully, though, the concept, gameplay, and presentation makes up for that, and I'm glad I got the chance to participate! Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy. Tell me your thoughts in the comments! FAQ: Q: WHY THESE CONTROLS THEY'RE SO BAD WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS MAKE JUMP UP ARROW ARRGH A: Z, X, and C are meant to be used with the arrow keys, and J, K, and L are meant to be used with WASD. It's much more common than you may think for games to use a separate key for jump, usually Z or X. I found that with the number of controls being higher than the average Scratch game, it was better to go for a split approach. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to add custom keybinds, but those would have helped too. Q: Why do I die to spikes when I'm only barely touching them? A: No hitbox grace, sorry. I didn't have time to fix that!
