Quick thing before we jump in, this is the prologue from a secret series project I'm doing from a story I made a few months ago! (or-or maybe a year? god damn how long has it been since I posted Ivythorn on my first acc-) Writing entry: Ash whirled through the air as a calico tom with fur the color of autumn leaves ran through a flaming house, coughing and sputtering. A bell on his collar jangled loudly as he jumped over a fallen piece of the ceiling, through a big hole outside. The tom landed awkwardly on his paw, fell, and started rolling over and over until he hit the fence hard. /Great, now my back hurts too./ He rolled over onto his side and stood up, limping towards a gate that was slightly open from where his owners had fled. Coughing and sputtering, he made his way to the house a few fences away from his. “Lily!” he coughed out. A brown she-cat with black splotches jumped over a fence next to him “Oh no- what’s happened?!” the she-cat called Lily squeaked. “Your paw is bleeding, and your pelt- it’s all burnt! Fin what happened?!” The tom, whose name was indeed Fin, shrugged. “Fire. Owners ran away, gone.” Lily’s eyes widened “Where’ll you go? My owners would let you in, they would. But I’m not sure if they’d keep you…” she trailed off, looking at Fin. “I’ll find somewhere.” he looked out across the maze of roads and houses. “Here, take this.” he put his paw that didn’t ache through his collar, and up to his mouth. Fin bit off the collar and handed it to Lily. “I don’t need it no more. You can have it to remember me by.” And just like that, he limped away.
